Missions at Woodridge
“Then Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” - Matthew 28:18-20 HCSB
The call to missions is at the very heart of the Christian life and the life of the church. We have been given the greatest gift of all in salvation through Jesus Christ and we have a responsibility to share the good news of God’s redemption with those who have yet to receive it.
Our approach to missions is three-pronged. Pray – Give – Go. We pray for those who have yet to know Christ and for those who are working to take the gospel to them. We give to support the work of missions through the Dr. T. Floyd Davis World Mission Offering. We put feet to our faith by participating in short- term mission trips and endeavors from Shreveport to the ends of the earth.
“God is a missionary God. The Bible is a missionary book. The Gospel is a missionary message. The church is a missionary institution. And when the church ceases to be missionary minded, it has denied the faith and betrayed its trust.” - J. Herbert Kane
